Burra - Burra Caravan & Caravan Park – Fairly small & basic park with neat sites & good amenities, limited shade, $25 per night. Great for a short to medium stop. Short walk to centre of Burra.  Our rating 7.5/10

Rawnsley Park - Rawnsley Park Caravan Park - Great location, amenities superb, large enclosed camp kitchen. Lots of rocky bush walks. $34 per night.  Our rating 8.5/10

Copley - Copley Caravan Park - Small and basic, but excellent for leaving your caravan for a trip into Arkaroola (125 km away on a dirt road).  Flat and bare.  Amenities OK.  Our rating 7/10

Coober Pedy - Coober Pedy Caravan Park - Small and basic, but excellent for leaving your caravan for a trip into Arkaroola (125 km away on a dirt road). Flat and bare. Amenities OK. Our rating 7/10

Kings Canyon - Kings Creek Station - to be completed

Mt Isa - Mt Isa Caravan Park - to be completed

Normanton - Normanton Tourist Park - Good amenities. Superb 25 metre pool.  Hot artesian spa. Our rating 7.5/10

Karumba - Gulf Country Caravan Park - Dusty, but excellent amenities.  Small pool. Good bakery 300 metres away  Our rating 7/10


Mareeba - Granite Gorge Caravan Park - Lovely bush park. Superb granite gorge walks, terrible facilities  Our rating 6/10

Cooktown - xxxx Caravan Park - superb facilities, lots of grass and shade, lovely pool, Our rating 8.5/10

Port Douglas - Glengarry Caravan Park - superb facilities, lots of grass and shade, lovely pool, 8 km from Port Douglas  Our rating 9/10

Cairns - Crystal Cascades Caravan Park - superb facilities, lots of grass and shade, lovely pool, 15 km from Cairns CBD  Our rating 9/10

Mission Beach - Hideway Holiday Village [Did not stop here] - Looks well worth a visit of 5-7 days

Mackay - Harbour Marine Caravan Park - a former run-down park that has had a lot of improvements and is a work-in-progress.  Deserves a chance. 5 km from Mackay.  Our rating 7/10

Yeppoon - Capricorn Palms Tourist Park - excellent facilities, lots of grass and shade, 10 km from Yeppoon, 400 metres from the beach Our rating 8/10

Emerald - Emerald Caravan andTourist Park - very good facilities, close to town and golf course.   Our rating 7.5/10

Carnarvon Gorge - Takarakka Tourist Park - excellent facilities, lots of grass and shade,   Our rating 8/10

Cania Gorge - Big4 Cania Gorge Caravan Park - excellent facilities, lots of grass and shade and space, lots of local fauna and birds  Our rating 8/10

Hervey Bay- Torquay Beachfront Park - on the beach, very good facilities, lots of grass and shade, plenty of local shops, smallish sites.  Try for site 6 or 7 or beachfront.   Our rating 9/10
Scarness Beachfront Park (just 2 km away) is a good alternative.

Tin Can Bay- Tourist Park (Top Tourist) - 300 m from the beach, very good facilities, lots of grass and shade and concrete roads, drive to local shops.    Our rating 7.5/10

Moonie Crossroads- Park beside motel - middle of nowhere, limited facilities, good for transit stop.  Our rating 5/10

Coonabarabran - John Oxley Caravan Park - pick your own site, cheap, very good facilities, lots of grass and shade.  Our rating 7.5/10


Forbes - ??? Caravan Park - great un-hitch sites, superb facilities, lots of grass and shade. Our rating 8/10

Wodonda- Wodonga Caravan & Cabin Park - very good facilities, lots of grass and shade. Our rating 7.5/10
